The riding here rewards a good road bike. Long, smooth tarmac, an early start before the heat, and enough open kilometres to lose yourself in, whether that is laps at Nad Al Sheba or the run out to Al Qudra. Our range covers riders buying their first drop-bar bike and riders chasing a personal best, and we are glad to spend time with either.

Carbon or alloy?

Alloy is a sensible place to start. It is tough, it shrugs off a knock, and a good alloy frame with a carbon fork rides better than most people expect. Carbon is lighter and does more to settle road buzz over a three-hour ride, which you notice on the way home rather than in the first hour. Groupsets, in plain terms

The groupset is your gears and brakes. Shimano 105 is the sweet spot for most riders: twelve speeds, dependable, easy to service. Ultegra is lighter and crisper. Di2 swaps cables for electronic shifting, which is a real luxury and priced like one, and SRAM AXS does the same thing wirelessly. None of it matters as much as fit. Disc or rim brakes

Nearly every new road bike is disc now, and for good reason: braking is consistent, it holds up in the wet, and there is more room for wider tyres. Rim brakes are lighter and cheaper to maintain, and there is nothing wrong with a rim-brake bike you already enjoy riding.

What a road bike costs here

Our road bikes start at around AED 1,500 for an entry-level alloy build. Mid-range carbon with a 105 or Ultegra groupset generally sits between AED 10,000 and AED 15,000, and top-end race machines run past AED 50,000. Getting the size right

Frame size matters more than any component on the bike. Road frames are sized in centimetres or as S/M/L depending on the brand, and the charts differ between makes, so height alone is not enough. Reach and stack decide whether you can hold the position comfortably for two hours. The short version: come in and sit on a couple. We will get you close in fifteen minutes, and adjust stem and saddle from there.

Used and pre-loved road bikes

Not every good road bike is a new one. We check, service and warranty our pre-loved bikes, which is often the fastest route onto a carbon frame for the money.

Questions we get asked

How many gears do I actually need? Modern road bikes give you 22 to 24 combinations, and you will use most of them. Wide-range cassettes make the Jebel climbs far more pleasant.

Is a road bike right for UAE roads? Yes. The main routes are well surfaced. If you want to mix in gravel tracks or rougher edges, look for a frame with clearance for 32mm tyres or wider.

What else do I need on day one? A helmet, lights, a bottle, and a spare tube with a way to inflate it. Shoes and pedals can wait a week if the budget is tight.

Do you build the bike before I collect it? Yes. Every bike leaves us fully built, torqued and gear-indexed, not in a box.

Looking after it

A road bike stays fast if it is kept clean and indexed. Our 15-minute check before a long ride catches most of what goes wrong, and you can book a full bike service with us any time. You will also want a helmet and, when you are ready, road shoes.
