Balance & Junior Bikes: the easy way to learn to ride

A balance bike has no pedals. Your child scoots along with their feet and learns to steer and balance first, which is the hard part of riding. Once that clicks, moving to pedals is quick.

Our balance bikes are from Woom, built light so small children can handle them. The Woom WOW is for the very youngest, from 9 months. On Woom’s chart the 12-inch Woom 1 suits roughly 1.5 to 3.5 years and the 14-inch Woom 1 PLUS roughly 3 to 4.5 years, but height and inside leg matter more than age. Our size guide shows how to measure. We often have pre-loved Woom balance bikes too.
