Sand gets everywhere. So does the dust that comes home with you from Al Qudra, and the salt in your sweat through a UAE summer. None of it looks dramatic on the day — it just quietly grinds away at a drivetrain until the shifting goes vague and the chain starts costing you money. Ten minutes with a brush, a degreaser and fresh lube is the cheapest thing you will ever do for your bike.
Everything here is what we reach for ourselves in the workshop on Umm Suqeim St.
What we stock
Dynamic
The biggest part of the range. Foaming bike wash, degreasers and drivetrain cleaners, brake cleaner, chain cleaners, chain oils and waxes, assembly paste and fork grease — plus brushes, microfibre cloths and drying towels, so you are not improvising with an old T-shirt.
Motorex
Swiss-made, and the fluids side of things: wet and dry chain lubes, bike wash, racing shock oil, hydraulic fluid and DOT 4 brake fluid for riders who service their own suspension and brakes.
Shimano
Mineral oil for Shimano hydraulic brakes, in standard and low-viscosity, plus freehub grease. If your brakes are Shimano, use Shimano mineral oil — brake fluids are not interchangeable between systems.
Stan’s
Tubeless tyre sealant, in the standard and race formulas. Worth checking more often than the label suggests: heat dries sealant out faster here than it does in Europe.
Chamois Butt’r
Not for the bike — for you. Chamois cream for long rides, including the Eurostyle and Her versions.
Wet lube or dry lube in the UAE?
Dry lube suits most of our year. It goes on thin and dries to a waxy film, so it picks up far less of the fine sand we all ride through. Wet lube earns its place in the humid months and after a wash-down, because it stays put in water — just accept that it collects more grit and needs cleaning off more often. Plenty of riders here keep both and switch with the season.
A routine that actually works
- Rinse the worst off, then foaming wash and a soft brush. Keep a pressure washer well away from bearings and seals.
- Degrease the chain, cassette and chainrings, and give it a moment to work rather than scrubbing dry grit into the rollers.
- Dry properly. Then one drop of lube per roller, turn the cranks, and wipe the outside clean. Lube belongs inside the chain, not on it.
Questions we get asked
How often should I clean my bike in Dubai?
Wipe and re-lube the chain every few rides as a rule of thumb, and sooner after anything dusty or near the coast. A full wash whenever it stops looking like your bike.
Can I use car or household products on my bike?
Be careful. Household degreasers and car cleaners can strip grease out of sealed bearings and contaminate disc brake pads, and a contaminated pad usually has to be replaced rather than cleaned.
Do you clean and service bikes for us?
We do. The workshop handles everything from a wash to a full service, and we can collect your bike from your home or work in Dubai and bring it back when it is done. Have a look at bike servicing and repairs.
Do you deliver?
Yes — free delivery across the UAE on orders over AED 150.
