The uvex Traqa Mips is a gravel helmet: Mips rotational impact protection, millimetre-accurate uvex 3D IAS 2.0 fit adjustment and a double in-mould shell, in an open, well-ventilated shape built for long days on mixed surfaces.

uvex designed the Traqa specifically for gravel riders — the discipline where a road helmet’s ventilation meets a trail helmet’s need for real protection. The 3D IAS 2.0 cradle sets the fit in millimetre steps in both width and height, so the helmet holds firm over washboard and loose ground without a hot spot on a four-hour ride. Around the lower rim, an additional polycarbonate shell is moulded in, which is the part of a helmet that takes the knocks when it is thrown in a car boot or set down on gravel. The open design keeps air moving, and the rear is prepared for uvex’s optional plug-in LED if you ride at dawn, at dusk or in traffic.

uvex 3D IAS 2.0 fit system

Turn the rear dial to adjust the cradle in millimetre steps, in both width and height. The helmet grips the back of the head without pressure points, so it stays exactly where you set it over rough ground.

Mips rotational protection

Inside the shell, a low-friction layer lets the helmet move a few millimetres against your head. In an angled impact that movement redirects rotational forces away from the brain.

Open, screened ventilation

Deep front intakes push air through the helmet in Gulf heat, with fine mesh screening the openings. The dark line along the rim is the second in-mould shell that protects the lower edge.

Flat divider, one-hand buckle

The flat race divider bundles the straps tight to the cheek, which keeps the fit quiet and cuts wind turbulence. The monomatic buckle opens and closes with one hand, gloves on.

Size and fit

Measure around your head about 2 cm above your eyebrows, at the widest point, and match the number to the size below.

If you are between two sizes, take the larger one and close the dial down — the 3D IAS 2.0 cradle has enough range to take up the difference, and a helmet that can be tightened is safer than one that cannot be loosened.

What size should I take?
Measure your head circumference 2 cm above the eyebrows. This listing covers 56–59 cm, which fits most adults. If you measure 55 cm or 60 cm, contact us and we will order the 52–56 or 59–61 size for you.

What does Mips actually do?
Most cycling crashes are angled rather than straight-on, and an angled impact twists the head as well as pushing it. Mips adds a low-friction layer inside the helmet so the shell can slide a few millimetres relative to your head, which redirects part of that rotational energy away from the brain.

Can I fit a rear light?
Yes. The Traqa Mips is built for uvex’s plug-in LED module, which slots into the rear of the helmet without tools. The module is sold separately — ask us about current availability.

Is it only for gravel?
No. uvex developed it for gravel riding, but the shape and the ventilation work just as well on the road, on a commute or on an e-bike.
