The uvex tenacit-e visor MIPS is a city helmet built for fast e-bikes: certified to NTA 8776 for tested protection at speeds up to 45 km/h, with Mips rotational impact protection, a flip-down visor and a magnetic USB-C rear light included in the box.

uvex describes this as the helmet for demanding commuters and e-bikers who want the highest protection standard. A normal bicycle helmet is tested at bicycle speeds; NTA 8776 is the standard written for speed pedelecs and fast e-bikes, and it asks for more coverage and higher test speeds. Inside, save+ multi-density EPS foam is built to absorb impacts across a wide range of speeds, and Mips adds a low-friction layer that redirects the rotational forces of an angled fall. The shell is multi in-mould, the ventilation is screened with a bug net, the straps carry reflective elements, and a magnetic wind-stopper cover is supplied to close off the vents on cold or wet mornings.

Flip-down visor, ready in one move

A category 1 lightmirror silver visor drops down over your eyes and flips back up out of the way. It keeps wind, dust and insects off your face at e-bike speed, and it works over prescription glasses.

Mips, plus save+ foam

Mips lets the shell rotate slightly against your head, redirecting the twisting forces of an angled impact. Underneath, save+ multi-density EPS is built to absorb impacts across a wide range of speeds.

Rear light in the box

The magnetic LED module clicks onto the back of the helmet with no tools and charges by USB-C. It is included, not an extra, so you are visible from behind on every ride.

FIDLOCK buckle, reflective straps

The FIDLOCK buckle closes and releases magnetically with one hand — easy with gloves on, at a traffic light. Reflective elements woven into the straps pick up headlights from the side.

Size and fit

Measure around your head about 2 cm above your eyebrows, at the widest point, then match the number below. The uvex 3D IAS cradle adjusts for height as well as circumference, so the helmet can sit level rather than tipped back.

About the visor

The helmet comes with the category 1 lightmirror silver visor fitted. Category 1 is a light tint: it takes the glare and the wind off without darkening much, which suits early mornings, evenings and overcast days. In full Gulf midday sun most riders will still want a darker lens, and uvex makes the same visor in smoke (category 3) and clear (category 0) — the visor is a replaceable part shared with the uvex stride visor. Why does an e-bike need a different helmet?

Is the rear light really included?
Yes. The magnetic LED module is part of the visor version — it attaches without tools and recharges over USB-C. Nothing extra to buy.

Do I still need sunglasses?
The fitted visor is category 1, a light tint that handles glare, wind and dust. For bright midday sun you may prefer a darker lens; the visor is replaceable and uvex offers it in smoke (category 3) and clear (category 0).

What size should I take?
Measure your head 2 cm above the eyebrows. This listing covers 56–59 cm. If you measure 55 cm or less, contact us and we will order the 52–56 cm size.
