This is the genuine Shimano Y1KS13000 crank arm fixing bolt for the Deore LX FC-T661 crankset. On a Hollowtech II crank it is the cap in the end of the left arm that sets the bearing preload before the arm’s pinch bolts are tightened. If it is cracked, chewed by the wrong tool or missing, the left arm cannot be set up properly.

What does this bolt do?
It sets the bearing preload on a Hollowtech II crank. Tighten it lightly with the correct cap tool, then tighten the two pinch bolts on the left arm.
Which tool do I need?
Shimano’s crank cap tool for this bolt (our workshop has it). Do not use pliers; they damage the plastic or alloy cap.
What if it is the wrong part?
