uvex obtic P – polarised sunglasses built for the highest demands outdoors. A uvex polavision® lens cuts the glare that ordinary tinted lenses leave behind, so bright days stop being tiring.

Glare is mostly horizontal light bouncing off flat surfaces – a wet road, the sea, a car bonnet, pale paving. The uvex polavision® filter absorbs that reflected light rather than simply darkening everything, which is why a polarised lens looks sharper and calmer than a normal one in the same conditions. The result is less squinting, better definition, and noticeably less eye strain over a long day outside.

The lens is filter category 3 with 9–18% light transmission, so it is made for genuine sun – the default here for most of the year. Behind it sits full 100% UVA, UVB and UVC protection up to 400 nm.

The obtic P uses a classic full-rim rectangular shape rather than a sports shield, which makes it the pair you keep in the car or the bag: for the drive, the walk, the coffee stop and the boat, as much as for the ride.

Is polarised right for you?

Polarised lenses are excellent against reflected glare from water, wet tarmac and bright surfaces. Worth knowing: they can make some LCD screens – car dashboards, phone displays, a bike computer – harder to read at certain angles. If you want to read a head unit mid-ride, a mirrored non-polarised lens such as the uvex slade or pace range suits better; for everything else in strong sun, polarised wins.
