The Shimano G05S-RX is Shimano’s resin brake pad for its 2-piston disc brakes. The fifth-generation resin compound is quieter and gives better modulation, and Shimano rates it at 50% more wear resistance than the old G03S pad and 110% more than G02S.
It fits a long list of Shimano calipers, from XTR and Deore XT to SLX, Deore and several road and gravel brakes, and comes as a pair with the spring and split pin, ready to fit.
Check before you order
- For Shimano 2-piston calipers with G-type pads: BR-M9000, M9020, M987, M985, M8100, M8000, M785, M7100, M7000, M6200, M675, M666, M6100, M6000, M615, MT600, S7000, S700, U8000, CX77, RS785, R785, R517, R317.
- Not for 4-piston brakes (they use D-type pads such as D03S).
- One pair of pads = one caliper. Buy two pairs for front and rear.

Resin or metal?
Resin (organic). Resin pads are quieter and bite well, while metal pads last longer in very wet or long, steep descents.
Is the spring included?
Yes: one pair of pads with the pad spring and split pin.
Will it fit my 4-piston brake?
No. 4-piston Shimano brakes use D-type pads, such as the D03S.
