The Shimano 105 Di2 FD-R7150 is the electronic front derailleur for Shimano’s 12-speed 105 Di2 groupset. Shimano says Di2 lets you shift between the big and small chainrings whenever you like while minimizing the risk of a dropped chain, and you can shift at the rear without trimming the front derailleur to avoid chain rub.
It is part of Shimano’s semi-wireless system: the derailleur is wired to the Di2 battery with an EW-SD300 cable, while the ST-R7170 shifters shift wirelessly. In the E-TUBE app you choose manual, semi-synchronized or fully synchronized shifting, so on the long drag up Jebel Hafeet or a fast group ride at Al Qudra you can leave the front shifts to the system and keep your eyes on the road.
Check these before you order
- Di2 system: it only works in a Shimano 12-speed road Di2 setup. It needs a BT-DN300 Di2 battery and an EW-SD300 electric wire (choose the length for your frame). Neither is included.
- Shifters: Shimano 105 Di2 ST-R7170 levers shift wirelessly; the ST-R7170 left lever controls the front derailleur.
- Mount: braze-on, for frames with a front derailleur mounting boss. Frames without a boss need a band adapter (not included).
- Chainrings: top gear 50–52T with a 16T total capacity, so 50-34T or 52-36T doubles such as the Shimano 105 FC-R7100 52-36T crankset. Use a Shimano HG 12-speed chain.
- Not on Di2? For mechanical 12-speed 105, choose the mechanical 105 FD-R7100.

Automatic trim
Shimano’s programmed chain guide control trims the cage for you, so rear shifts don’t need a front adjustment to stop chain rub.
One cable, firmware updates
A single E-TUBE SD300 port wires it to the battery, and its firmware updates through Shimano E-TUBE PROJECT.
Three ways to shift
- Manual: the left lever shifts the front derailleur and the right lever shifts the rear, as on any Di2 system.
- Semi-Synchronized Shift: you shift the front, and the rear derailleur adjusts automatically to avoid a big jump in gearing.
- Synchronized Shift: you only use the rear shift buttons, and the front derailleur picks the chainring based on the rear derailleur’s position.
You switch between them in Shimano’s E-TUBE app.

FAQ
Does it work with mechanical shifters?
No. It needs Shimano 12-speed road Di2 shifters such as the 105 Di2 ST-R7170 and a BT-DN300 battery. For a mechanical 12-speed 105 bike, choose the mechanical 105 FD-R7100.
Are the battery and cable included?
No. The box contains the front derailleur only. You also need a BT-DN300 Di2 battery and an EW-SD300 electric wire in the right length for your frame.
Will it fit my frame?
It is a braze-on derailleur for frames with a front derailleur mounting boss, designed for a chainstay angle of 61–66°. Frames without a boss need a band adapter. Send us your frame model if you are unsure.
Which cranksets does it work with?
Shimano 12-speed road double cranksets with a 50–52T big ring and up to 16T between the rings, such as 50-34T or 52-36T. Use a Shimano HG 12-speed chain.
What is Synchronized Shift?
In Synchronized Shift you only use the rear shift buttons, and the front derailleur changes chainring automatically based on the rear derailleur’s position. You turn it on, or choose Semi-Synchronized or manual shifting, in the E-TUBE app.
