The BMC Dropout Hanger No. 84 (BMC article 30007615) is a genuine BMC replacement rear derailleur hanger. It fits traditional rear derailleur mounting: SRAM, Campagnolo and Shimano direct attachment. It comes with the M4x8 fixing bolt. BMC lists the No. 84 and No. 85 hangers in its owner’s manual for the current Teammachine SLR 01.
Check the number before you order
- Look at your old hanger: BMC hangers are sold by number. Match No. 84 or article 30007615 on your invoice, bike spec or the old part.
- Check your derailleur: No. 84 is for SRAM and Campagnolo derailleurs. It does not suit Shimano Di2: choose No. 85.

No. 84 or No. 85?
Two versions for the same frame
No. 84 is for SRAM and Campagnolo (and Shimano direct attachment) rear derailleurs. No. 85 is for Shimano Direct Mount derailleurs and needs Shimano’s B-link. BMC’s manual notes that No. 84 does not work with Shimano Di2, because it won’t let you route the Di2 wire. Running Shimano Di2? You need No. 85. Both are listed on Bikeera.
Why replace it
The hanger is designed to bend or break before your frame or derailleur does. A bent hanger causes poor shifting and can put the derailleur into the spokes, so carrying a spare is worth it for race days, travel and long rides like Hatta or Jebel Jais.
Fitting
BMC’s manual: position the hanger on the frame dropout, fit the M4x8 bolt with a 3 mm hex key and tighten to 2 Nm. Use a torque wrench: the bolt is small and easy to overtighten. After fitting, check the hanger alignment and re-index the gears. For Di2 builds, BMC asks for 75 mm of electronic wire extending from the frame. Our Dubai workshop can fit it for you.
