The Oakley Sphaera™ Slash is a single-lens sport sunglass with a Matte Carbon O Matter™ frame and a polarised Prizm™ Deep Water Polarized lens (Oakley code OO9499-1136). Oakley calls it the result of decades of research with athletes: an alternative “slash” lens shape helps reduce cheek crash, and the wide field of view and light O Matter™ frame are made for sport.
A vent at the front of the frame lets air through, and Unobtainium® nosepads and molded-in earsocks grip when wet, with a hat or a helmet. With 12% light transmission it is a lens for strong sun, like early rides out to Al Qudra or along the coast.

- Light: Prizm™ Deep Water Polarized lets 12% of light through. Oakley rates it Category 3, for bright light, so it is not a lens for riding or driving at night.
- Polarised: yes. Polarised lenses can make some screens, such as phones or bike computers, look darker at certain angles, so check yours if that matters.
- Size: one size, L (134 mm), with Oakley’s Wide – Universal Fit. Compare the width with a pair you already wear.

The lower edge of the lens is cut away on each side. Oakley designed this “slash” shape to help reduce cheek crash while keeping a wide field of view.
Front vent
