The Shimano BB-UN300 is a square-taper cartridge bottom bracket — the one-piece unit that most city bikes, hybrids, kids’ bikes and entry-level mountain and road bikes are built around. This version fits a 68 mm BSA (English-thread) shell with a 117.5 mm spindle.
The bearings sit inside the cartridge, so there is nothing to adjust: thread it in, fit your cranks and ride. When the old one starts to creak, grind or feel loose, replacing the whole cartridge is the standard fix. Shimano also builds a chain line stabiliser into the design for steadier chainline.
Check these before you order
- Shell: 68 mm wide, BSA / English thread. It does not fit Italian-thread, press-fit or 73 mm shells.
- Spindle length: 117.5 mm. Match the length on your old bottom bracket (it is usually printed on the cartridge) — the wrong length moves your chainline and can stop the front shifting working properly.
- Cranks: square-taper (JIS) only. Not for Hollowtech II, Octalink or other splined cranks.
- Crank fixing bolts are not included.

Does it come with crank bolts?
No. It is supplied without crank fixing bolts — reuse your old ones if they are in good condition, or ask us for a pair.
How do I know which spindle length I need?
Read the markings on your old cartridge (for example “68-117.5”) or measure the spindle tip to tip. Keep the same length unless a mechanic has told you otherwise — it sets your chainline.
Will it fit my mountain bike?
Only if the frame has a 68 mm BSA shell. Many mountain bike frames use 73 mm shells, which need a different version.
Can you fit it for me?
Yes. Fitting needs a crank puller and a splined bottom bracket tool — our Dubai workshop can do it while you wait for most bikes.
