The Shimano BB-RS501 is a threaded Hollowtech II bottom bracket for road and gravel bikes with a 68 mm BSA (English-thread) shell. It takes Shimano road Hollowtech II cranksets with a 24 mm axle, such as 105 FC-R7100 and Ultegra FC-R8100.
Shimano gives it an enhanced seal to help keep water and grit out of the bearings — useful in the UAE, where fine sand on the road and a hose-down after the ride are both part of normal life.
Check these before you order
- Shell: 68 mm BSA (English thread) only. Italian-thread frames need the BB-RS501 Italian version; press-fit frames need a press-fit bottom bracket.
- Cranks: Shimano Hollowtech II with a 24 mm axle. Not for square-taper, 30 mm or other axle standards.
- Fitting needs a Hollowtech II cup tool and a torque wrench — our Dubai workshop can install it.
