Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 two-finger hydraulic disc brake lever, left hand (IBLM8100L).
- 10% stiffer than M8000, shorter free stroke
- Toolless reach and free stroke adjust
- Lever only — caliper sold separately
The Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 is the cross-country and trail brake lever from Shimano’s 12-speed XT family. This listing is the left-hand lever only — the caliper is sold separately.
Shimano made it 10% stiffer than the previous M8000 lever, even when the brake is hot, and shortened the free stroke so the pads bite sooner. Reach and free stroke both adjust without tools, so you can set the lever to your hand at the trailhead in Hatta or Showka.
Check these before you order
- Lever only. Pair it with a Shimano hydraulic caliper such as the Deore XT BR-M8100 (2-piston) or BR-M8120 (4-piston) — sold separately.
- Shimano brakes run on mineral oil — never DOT fluid.
- I-SPEC EV mounting lets you combine it with a matching Shimano shifter on one clamp (shifter sold separately).
- Fitting a new lever means cutting and bleeding the hose — book it into our Dubai workshop if you are not set up for it.
Who it is for
- Riders replacing a damaged left lever after a crash
- Upgrading to XT lever feel and adjustability
- Building a custom Shimano brake set with a 2- or 4-piston caliper
Full specifications are listed in the Information tab.
Not published for this exact code on the pages we checked: lever weight, and whether a hose is supplied. Ask us before ordering if you need a complete brake.
