A helmet is the one piece of kit we would never let you ride without. Ours cover everything from early-morning laps at Nad Al Sheba to the ride to school, and there is something here whatever your pace. Browse our range from Uvex and other trusted brands, or come and try them on at our Dubai showroom.
Road cycling helmets
A road helmet is built around two things: airflow and weight. In UAE heat, ventilation matters more here than almost anywhere else, so we stock road models with deep internal channelling that keeps air moving across your head even at a steady club pace. Lighter shells make a real difference over distance, and low-profile aero shapes help when you are pushing into a headwind along the canal. Pair one with our cycling shoes, or start from the bike itself in road bikes.
Mountain and trail helmets
Trail riding asks more of a helmet at the back of the head. Extended rear coverage, a visor to cut low sun, and a little more shell around the temples are what separate a mountain bike lid from a road one. If you ride Hatta, this is the shape you want.
Kids helmets
Children grow out of helmets faster than they grow out of bikes. We keep sizes that fit small heads properly, with dials they can adjust themselves and buckles that do not pinch. Sizing a helmet alongside a new kids bike is the easiest way to get both right.
What MIPS does, in plain terms
MIPS is a low-friction layer inside the helmet that lets the shell rotate a few millimetres against your head in a crash. Most falls happen at an angle rather than straight on, and that small amount of movement reduces the rotational force reaching your brain. It is worth having if it is within your budget.
Getting the fit right
A helmet only works if it fits. It should sit level, about two fingers above your eyebrows, and it should not rock forward or sideways when you shake your head. The straps should form a V just under each ear. If you are unsure, come in and we will fit it with you. While you are here, our 15-minute bike check is a good habit before any long ride, and we can book your bike in for a service at the same time.
Helmet questions we get asked
When should I replace my helmet? After any crash where it took an impact, even if it looks fine, because the foam is designed to crush once. Otherwise every five years or so, and sooner in UAE heat, as sun and sweat age the liner.
Do I need a road-specific helmet? Not strictly. Any certified helmet is safer than none. A road helmet will be lighter and cooler for long tarmac rides, and a mountain bike one gives more coverage on trails.
How do I know my size? Measure around your head just above your eyebrows and match it to the brand chart, as they differ between makes. If you are between sizes, the retention dial usually takes up the difference.
Can I try one before buying? Yes, and we would rather you did. Every helmet on this page can be tried at our showroom on Umm Suqeim Street.
