The Shimano SM-MA-F203P/PA mount adapter lets you run a 203 mm rotor with a post-mount caliper on a frame or fork whose post mounts are made for 160 mm rotors.
It lifts the caliper by 43 mm — the step from 160 to 203 mm. A bigger rotor gives more braking power and better heat control, which is why e-bikes, enduro and downhill bikes run them on long descents.
