This is the left lever and front brake from Shimano’s 12-speed Ultegra Di2 R8100 group: an ST-R8170 dual control lever paired with a BR-R8170 flat mount hydraulic caliper on a 1000 mm hose. The left lever shifts the front derailleur and works the front brake.
The lever shifts wirelessly, so only the brake hose runs to the frame. Shimano gave the caliper 10% more pad clearance than before to reduce rotor rub, and the lever reach adjusts so riders with smaller hands can brake comfortably from the drops.
Check these before you order
- Ultegra Di2 (12-speed) only. The shift buttons connect wirelessly to a Shimano 12-speed Di2 system — they do not work with mechanical derailleurs.
- Flat mount front caliper — needs a flat mount fork. Rotor sold separately.
- Shimano mineral oil brake — never DOT fluid. The lever runs on 2 × CR1632 coin cells.
- Hose length 1000 mm; the workshop trims it to fit your bike.
Fitting means routing and bleeding the hose and pairing the lever in the E-TUBE app — our Dubai workshop can do it.
