The Oakley Sphaera™ Slash Giro d’Italia Collection is a single-lens sport sunglass with a Giro Grey Smoke O Matter™ frame and a Prizm™ Road lens (Oakley code OO9499-0936). Oakley calls the Sphaera Slash the result of decades of research with athletes: an alternative “slash” lens shape helps reduce cheek crash, and the wide field of view and light O Matter™ frame are made for sport. A vent at the front of the frame lets air through, and Unobtainium® nosepads and molded-in earsocks grip when wet, with a hat or a helmet.
This edition marks Oakley’s link with the Giro d’Italia, the Grand Tour that opens the professional cycling year and is raced for the pink Maglia Rosa. Oakley added a pink, jersey-coloured pattern to the grey frame, a custom Giro d’Italia lens etch, and a custom printed microbag and box sleeve. A good pair for early loops at the Al Qudra cycle track or the climb up Jebel Hafeet.
